Cheetah is being used in a wide variety of commercial, government,
academic, personal, and open-source projects & products. Products
built with Cheetah are used by many of the Fortune 500.
This page provides selected examples. It is not an exhaustive list. If

- One major example of commercial use are the email gateway appliances from
IronPort Systems, which are
used by the largest corporations and ISPs in the world. IronPort's products
contain over a million lines of Python and use Cheetah plus Aquarium for their user interfaces.
- Apparently, it is the template engine used by
Yelp.com and
Dropbox.com
- A prominent example of government use is Incident News, which provides news,
photos, and other information about spill incidents and response actions in
the U.S. A larger private site is used to feed the items on the public
site. The site is maintained by the Hazardous Materials Response Division,
Office of Response and Restoration, National Ocean Service, National Oceanic
and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), in support of U.S. Coast Guard incident
response operations.
- Python and Cheetah helped AFNIC (France's top-level internet domain registry) manage over 10,000
internet domain name registration requests per minute in a
landrush for the ".fr" top-level domain.

- The University of St. Andrews,
in Scotland, uses Python + Cheetah for their student records system.
St. Andrews is the 3rd oldest university in the English speaking world. See

- University of
Auckland CourseBuilder is based on Cheetah and
has been used to build more than 100 university course web
sites (total 300+ sites for surveys, presentation,
documentation, student assignments, course templates, etc.).

- Oyster Hotel Reviews
is a large-scale website (200,000 users per month
and 3 million pageviews per month) that reviews hotels and lets you
book them -- the reviews part has been around for some time, but the
booking part is new.

to stay at, from the beds you'll sleep in to the bathrooms
you'll use to the food you'll eat. Our goal is to guide our

centralized provisioning (network deployment) server for
Fedora and Red Hat based Linux distributions. Cobbler uses
Cheetah for rendering kickstart files, DHCP configurations,
PXE configuration trees, and to power its web user
interface.

SysDirector is a template driven configuration management
system that allows administrators to deliver content to
machines in a protocol independent fashion. Currently
supported protocols include HTTP, TFTP, Puppet, and
Cfengine.
- Google's Gears
project uses Cheetah as part of its test reporting and code
review toolchain.
- Cheetah is supported by, and used with, every major Python web
development framework:

Gentoo, Fedora, Red Hat, Debian, and Ubuntu among others.
